Wow, it's been a while since I've posted! Sorry about the large gap between posts. And this one is for Ben's 2nd birthday. On Friday, November 21st, our little man turned 2! It's amazing how fast the past few years have come and gone, and now our first born is 2!! I decided to skip the big birthday bash and opt for a basic: birthday cake/ice cream and presents with just family. I'll deal with the parties when he gets older. And because, Phil is gone all week long at the Sheriff's Academy, it was perfect that Ben's birthday was on friday...so we did birthday cake and presents on saturday. He got lots of clothes for winter and a couple toys from mommy & daddy, nothing big. And we were soooo happy, because when we sang "Happy Birthday", there were no tears! He also didn't blow out the candles, but he's two...what do you expect? I hate the idea of spending tons of money on a fancy birthday cake, that could have gone to purchasing a gift...and so I'm following in my momma's footsteps and making my kiddos cakes myself. If I do say so myself...it's not that bad. Give a few more birthdays and I'm sure to get better. This one was really easy, so instead of sacrificing my money...it's time instead. Still well worth it!
