Today we thought we'd venture out to the beach, for the first time since returning to California. It's been a good 3 years since Phil and I have been and the first time ever for Benjamin and Elizabeth. We were soooo excited to take them. We were a bit skeptical at first, given the fact it was their first time and Ben has a difficult time touching certain things, especially when he's never been exposed to it. But we absolutely love the beach and wanted to see if the kids did too.
We didn't leave until about 11 am since Ben's Early Start teacher comes at 9am on Friday mornings and we had to make some stops for ice and swim shoes for Ben before heading out. But it was a good drive, so the kids could get a nap, before we actually got to the water. It was a warm, breezy 72 when we arrived in Huntington Beach. A bit overcast, but the sun peaked through every so often to greet us, but it was a great day to be there. We started the long walk from the parking lot to the beach. Ben was a little hesitant, but it was a little difficult for him to walk in the sand. Once we got closer to the water and laid out our blanket and beach umbrella, Ben was ready to head to the water and explore. Once the water touched his feet, he was hooked. He kept running up to the water and letting it roll over his feet and past him. After a while, he was playing like any other kid, running up to the water and running away from it. It was a joy watching him, we could have stayed all day. Elizabeth didn't take to the water very well, she was a bit shocked to how cold it was and I'm sure the ocean seemed mighty large to such a petite girl. She rather enjoyed playing with the sand toys on her blankie, most of the day. It was a great day and we hope to make it back many more times this summer...today was a just a taste of what is to come. We L-O-V-E the beach!

Hey so way cute and looks like you guys had fun. We miss the california beaches... man your lucky to be back there! Oh, before I forget I am making a special request to see what you place looks like so take some pics and put them on here for me! Thanks sista, love ya!
