So I haven't posted in a while and that is mainly due to the fact that our life can get pretty mundane and I suppose there isn't much to blog about. But I guess if I tried there are lots of things I could talk about...let's see, hmmm? So at the beginning of this month, my youngest sister, Tami came out to visit. We only got to see her 2 times while her and her baby were out. It was so nice to see you again Tami and Tyson, we miss you guys so much and can't wait for you to move back! ;-)
On Saturday, August 15th our Ward was having a 'Corn Bust'. Little did we know what the activity entailed, and I thought we'd be eating dinner, but when we got there we found out that they were providing the corn, not the entire meal! Oh well, we stopped off at In-N-Out on the way home. But I was stoked about going! Ever since we have moved into the ward a few months ago, I have been to church all by myself with the kids. And I am always worried that the ward thinks I am a single mother of two. I am always telling people right away that Phil is a cop and he'll be missing church due to work. So I was dead set on going to the ward activity, this way everyone at church could finally meet him and know that I wasn't lying about being married! But we had a fun time getting to know more people and letting the kids run around the park.
And more news...I have just been called to serve as Young Women's Secretary. I am super excited to finally be able to serve in a calling. The last time I had served was way back in March of '08, when we were living in Utah. After that I had moved back to California then back to Utah after realizing Phil wouldn't be entering the Sheriff's Academy until Sept. Then I had Elizabeth and we moved back to California, only to live in our new place a few months then moving in with my sister Emily then my parents. Geeez! That was a lot...and now finally, finally we are settled and we know we are staying for a while. So I am up for anything! Although...I have served in this calling before, back when we were first married in our old ward of Spring Valley Lake. But this calling doesn't really require a lot of responsibility and I have a lot going on with Ben, so any more would probably be overwhelming. I am just excited to work with the Young Women of this ward and really have some fun. I am in desperate need of some girl fun =) oh yeah!
And lastly, I will give an update on my babies. Ben is still going to Occupational Therapy every two weeks. He absolutely loves it! His teacher Michelle is the greatest, she works really well with Ben and he seems very at ease around her. I even love going to see her! =D We still have an in-home teacher come and work with him twice a week and I have to say it's more of a roller-coaster sometimes. On a certain day, he'll do really well and sit through play time no problem, and other day's(like today), he'll kick and scream and not cooperate. It's really hard to call it...but we keep at it. I am still adamant about changing his diet to a GFCF, but it's still a work in progress. The new cookbook I bought for it has some great recipes, but they require certain ingredients that you normally wouldn't find in your local grocery store. So once I can gather those ingredients, we'll be on it.
Elizabeth is a feisty little thing! She is talking a lot more now, saying: bye-bye, dada, mamma, ball and even BEN! We love to hear her chat. She's been walking a lot this past month too, taking more and more steps each time. She still gets around by crawling but she's a walker, hands down. She loves to hug her dolls and stuffed animals, swing, play with mommy's jewelry, nailpolish and the other day I found her in my closet sitting in all of my shoes checking 'em out, no joke! I wish I had had my camera on me then! And just today, while at the park, I was signing to Ben 'more' and she did the sign for 'more'! How exciting!! I know Elizabeth is going to be an amazing little sister to her big brother and teach him a lot.

Sara, I have a couple of friends in Fresno that HAVE to be on the gluten free diet, and they have several recipes and could probably help out on where to buy the ingredients...let me know if you want me to get some info for you, or if you want to call them. (559) 302-0785
