Garden Baby Shower

The beautiful momma-to-be

So my younger sister Lisa had her baby shower this last weekend, and I was able to help her decorate for the grand occassion. I love doing this stuff!!!! Seriously made me think I need to become a party planner or such??? Hmmmm...something I will need to seriously think about?!!? So anywho, she wanted a Garden theme shower, but with brighter colors and not the same 'ol traditional pastel colors. I was thrilled about this and wanted to make it come true...so I think I accomplished it. Everything turned out just the way she wanted and I was excited to make it happen. Soooo...what do 'ya think? Would you hire me to plan your next party?? **Please say yes!**

I made this wreath for her front door to welcome guests. It was a simple twig wreath I purchased from Michael's and I spray painted it with a glossy white paint, then used store bought scrapbooking letters that I got for .99 at Target. And then simply used a clothespin tied with ribbon to hold one of her maternity pics. Simple and sweet!

The diaper cake I made from scratch was so easy! I have never made one before and only had one pack of diapers. I wanted it to be simple and sophisticated for the table so I went simple with bright ribbon around each tier and only a few bright flowers around the cake.

This little baby was exciting for me to make!! I had thought something like this would be different yet useful for her themed shower...I call it the 'Wishing Tree'. I bought a simple tall canister, filled with plastic bags, then a few inches of real dirt, then used river rock on top. The branch I actually found outside my apartment that had broken off of one of the many trees outside. I lucked out that it was a perfect broken branch for my little project. Then I bought simple scrapbook tags and tied them with ribbon so guest could write their 'wishes' for the new mom or words of advice. It turned out sooooo cute and I loved that it was something different and inexpensive. Do you love??!!

I made these banners by printing off the letters online and using scrapbook paper in coordinating paper. Then I simple strung the letters on bright ribbon. Cute???...I think so!!! I made this 'Congrats' one for the dining area above the food table and another for the Living Room where we opened gifts.

The food table I realized later, should have been extended...we had soooo much we wanted to fit, on a rather small table...well, not exactly small, we just had so much to put out! So, the table we used a simple white table cloth to off-set the bright colors we were using. I used scrapbook paper(again!) to be used underneath the food. While using bright serving trays to hold some of the food. Bright pink glitter letters were fanned out across the table and a few framed photos of the new parents adorned the table. Bright pink plates, yellow napkins and bright green forks were used to again coordinate with the theme.

Simple clothesline in the living area with Lisa's Maternity photos displayed for all to see!!!
