So after finishing my awesome bench...I thought my table needed a face lift so it wouldn't feel second class to my bench's awesome-ness. Haha! So I went straight to working on her. At first I thought I would just sand down the top of her, but realized a second later that the top of my table was made of something fake...like particle board or something. Really I don't know what it is, but it's not the real deal. A friend of mine suggested just taking the top off and putting new wood down. Yeah...hello! Great idea. So I went out and bought 5 pine boards. Sanded those babies down and gave her 3 coats of Dark Walnut stain.
I forgot to take a good 'before' shot...so this is the best I could do.
I gave the bottom legs a few coats of Heirloom White spray paint...
After 3 coats of Poly on top...I put her all together and she looks amazing!!
I am getting the knack for re-doing furniture. (I think). And I am really enjoying the time spent on working on them. It has made me start to contemplate the idea of continuing with it and turning it into a business?
I have wrestled around with the idea for some time now. But with the past year's struggles, I have put it off thinking I would think about it after everything was settled. I have felt the spirit strongly manifest this "new adventure" to me...and I can't help feeling that this is the path I should take.
We'll see what happens and I'll let you know too.
For now, I am just drooling over my (semi-new) table!
