Simple Joys

I love thinking of my blessings.  I have so many.

I was talking with my sister tonight about the simple things in life.  Things that I know we all take for granted now and again, and I told her of the time when I first thought of a simple truth that pertained to my children.  Ben was an infant and we were living in Utah.  I had just barely begun feeding him solid foods and he had an appetite for PB&J.  I made him his sandwich and I remember feeling so much gratitude for being able to provide this simple joy in life to my son.  As time passed I remember thanking my Heavenly Father for the home we lived in.  The ability to pay our bills, have a roof over our head, go to the movies, etc.  So many things.  Yes.  Maybe we didn't have the freedom to spend our money the way we , no...we all, want to spend our money.  We couldn't afford to take trips everywhere.  We couldn't have the most luxurious cars.

No, but we had...

the warmth of our home.  A crib for our son.
Shoes and clothes we provided him. And the occasional movie and dinner's out.

Such simple things.

Simple joys that make my heart swell because the Lord has blessed us.

I still see the Lord's hand in our lives.  He continually watches over my children. Protects them.  And blesses our home with His spirit.

Yes.  I frequently stalked my son whenever he was sleeping.  I just couldn't help myself!

Snack time after church....such a lady killer!

I do, love, the simple things.
