Happy 5th Birthday Elizabeth!

Ms. Elizabeth turned five and I am still so amazed at how fast she has grown up.  I know, I know!...we all say the same cliche' thing about our kids, but it's just too darn true.  This year for her big day, we decided to do a themed art party.  And just so you know, I took the entire idea of this party from Jamie of The Handmade Home.  Basically, I'm giving myself a break and just followed her suit.  Invites, watercolor #5 and all.  And really...you just can't get any cuter than what she already came up with.

We decided on this party because I wanted to do something Elizabeth liked to do and that wouldn't cost me an arm and a leg.  This party was cheap, cheap! Hallelujah!  I told her she could invite 5 friends and that was it.  She had no problem with that and in reality just makes sense to me.  Less fuss.

Decorations were cheap and on sale, all thanks to Target for having all their cute party stuff on clearance.  Another big plus!  And if I have to tell you ladies one thing, it's to buy a cute picnic table cloth.  I've had this one for about 2 years, it wipes clean with a rag and I haven't bought one for a party in a while.

Lots of bright happy treats!

Teagan, Elizabeth & Kyle.

Being that I am trying to remember that this party is for her and not about the theatrics, the kids painted their watercolor canvases and that was it.  No other activities were necessary, except with the presents which came shortly after the cake.

My little artist!  Lately she's been painting a lot of abstract of sorts.

Present time!  Filled with Barbies, Polly Pockets (ugh!),
craft supplies, doll houses and Princesses...
you know, the works.

She was quick to blow out the candles, she really didn't give me a chance to get a "before" picture!

And the kids with their finished masterpieces.  They did an awesome job and were excited to take home their painting supplies.   And this was the best smile I could get from Elizabeth, she kept complaining of the sun in her eyes.  Oh well!

Kyle had to leave early, so he had a photo shoot solo.  Hello, Mr. Art-eest!
He is such a sweetheart!

Playing with her gifts.  I think this was one of the best yet!

We love you Elizabeth,
Happy Birthday!!!
