I've signed up our family again for the Walk Now for Autism Speaks at Angel Stadium. Last year was our first year participating, and we had a blast. We want to keep the tradition going for many years to come, but this time we did it early. Last year I signed us up the month before, which didn't give us enough time to form a big team or raise a lot of money for the cause. So I think 7 months is plenty of time to form a decent size team and raise a considerable amount of money. =)
And so if you are one of the few reading my blog, I want to encourage you to come join us this year for the walk. We want to raise some money for this cause as well, that will help fund research and help families in this country living with this disorder. Autism is an epidemic in this country, with 1 in every 110 children being diagnosed every year. I am sure we will know someone with this disorder, or will know someone in the future, with how fast it is growing.
