Halloween 2012: Bees & Pirates

Our annual church Halloween party was this past Saturday.  It was the first year, I was totally realistic and just had fun with the kids.  I've been in a Presidency every year and I am always running around doing something, picking something up, cooking or baking something or setting up.  And even though, I am still in the Primary presidency this year, the only thing I had to do was sew a couple bean bags for the small games we had between eating and trunk-or-treating.  So basically... we came and ate and collected some candy.  It was a good night!

Lizzie went as a bee...you can imagine my surprise that we weren't dressing up as a Princess.  But she got the boot after Lizzie ran through a long list of characters she thought she might be.  Mama was just happy she went as anything other than a Princess.  And Mr. B...well, Lizzie and I decided that he should be a pirate.  I mean, he does like to steal food, collects treasures (and hides them for himself), doesn't take any crap from anyone and speaks in simple short blasts of words.  And mommy was happy that I didn't have to spend a lot of money on the costume.  The pants and shirt were bought at Goodwill- $5; felt vest- made by me; striped belt- had on hand; hat and accessories- $8.  Yep, and he can wear it again next year if he wants (or Lizzie for that matter).
