This Spring Break was one of the hardest I've had to deal with. While breaks are always hard on Ben, not having his routine and normal activities going on during the day, we have a lot of set backs. This time it was waaayy different. Part of this was due to the fact that we started Benjamin on medication at the end of January. This is another post I'll have to explain more later, but basically, Ben has always had an obsession (of sorts) of putting everything in his mouth or chewing on things (edible and non-edible), and not always but majority of the time ingesting them. His behavior finally after all we could do, just wasn't decreasing, so in desperation we turned to meds. His behavior on the meds had become unstable and he was showing a lot of side effects, making him almost impossible to deal with. Again, I'll dive into that another time, so basically...Spring Break was trying to break me. And it almost worked, so I needed a time-out and Phil so graciously allowed me a day away, so I could relax and recoup from my week.
We had never been to Aquarium of the Pacific and while it wasn't entirely what I had imagined, it was a fun place to hang out and relax. And Lizzie really loves fish and sea life, so it was perfect. My favorite was the jelly fish, they are beautiful and I couldn't stop taking pictures!
And of course, Lizzie's favorite...the penguins.
It was just the kind of day I needed and I loved spending time with this little girl. I really didn't even mind the crazy impossible traffic we hit on the way home (well, maybe a little), but it was all worth it.
